Daniel ("Danya") Naroditsky, 29, passed away, according to a recent revelation from his family. On October 19, friends discovered him unconscious on a couch in his house. The medical examiner, authorities, and family have not yet disclosed the cause of death. The family has requested privacy during this time, and there have been no reports of foul play.
Although officials and the family have not confirmed a specific cause, there has been some conjecture in the media and online forums that his death was caused by stress, despair, and emotional difficulties that may have been made worse by public accusations and harassment. His death is merely described as "unexpected" in official statements.
In social media and other public places, Vladimir Kramnik has openly voiced his suspicions throughout the past year that Daniel Naroditsky may be cheating in online chess games, but he has not offered any solid proof. The two became embroiled in a major and well-publicised fight as a result of these accusations, which caused Naroditsky great public attention and grief. He denied all of the accusations and disclosed the emotional toll it took on him during his final Twitch stream.

In reference to cheating and substance abuse, Kramnik wrote on social media after Naroditsky's passing: "Too high price paid, but if I was the only person shouting about obvious long-term problems of Danya becoming alarming, requiring urgent measures from people around, while 'friends' only cared about hiding it and erasing evidence, it is rotten to the core."

According to the Frenchman, the team's strategy is centered on comprehension rather than risk. "We think there will be a net benefit, so we are doing this. We can apply our methods to 2026 and are now verifying them. If it led to difficulties, we would not do it.
