ROMAN REIGNS VS. CODY RHODES: THE LEAKED RETURN CONFIRMS THE INEVITABLE REMATCH OUTCOME

The Tribal Chief is coming home. A leaked SmackDown listing reveals Roman Reigns’ return date following his Survivor Series hiatus.

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes: The leaked return confirms the inevitable rematch outcome
Roman Reigns returning to WWE?

Roman Reigns has been WWE’s main guy for almost ten years, and with WrestleMania season nearing, his return is likely.

The Tribal Chief has been absent since a heated Survivor Series WarGames match. His team lost, and he had a face-off with Cody Rhodes after the match, with each saying they would never team up.

WWE has used Reigns rarely and during big moments, and they’ve been quiet about their plans for him. But a recent mistake may have revealed his return.

WWE May Have Spoiled Roman Reigns’ Return

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he saw a possible mistake from WWE while checking upcoming TV listings.

Roman Reigns is expected to return soon, but it appears there was a mix-up. Someone at WWE sent RAW information they weren’t supposed to, planning for it to be for a future SmackDown episode, which could include the former Universal Champion’s return. The exact date wasn’t revealed, but Roman might be returning soon, as WWE accidentally shared the plan when sending its routine rundown to TV guides.

Another RAW note about Maxxine Dupri was mentioned, but that was also a mistake. Meltzer said WWE was only supposed to send the one for SmackDown.

Meltzer said that the person in charge of sending the information mixed it up and sent the RAW one instead of the SmackDown one. It mentioned how Maxxine Dupri tries to recover from her loss to Becky Lynch, and Roman Reigns returns.

He doesn’t know if that’s this Monday’s show or next Monday’s show, but he thought that was interesting. It could be the week after that. That is what WWE sent to the TV guide people for SmackDown, so someone messed up.

It looks like WWE’s distribution system made a mistake and revealed the information too early.

WWE tries to make sure returns aren’t made public, but it may have confirmed Roman Reigns’ return. It might not happen this week, but Reigns’ next appearance is coming up, and it’s not a secret anymore.

Frank Lampard, the head coach of Coventry City, has revealed that midfielders Victor Torp and Josh Eccles are running out of time to be ready for Saturday's Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

There are concerns that both players may be the newest members of the Sky Blues' ever-expanding injury list after they were substituted off during the second half of Wednesday night's 4-0 victory against Millwall at The Den.

Following the game, Lampard said that Torp had to be pulled due to an ankle ailment, and Eccles had experienced a glute problem. Lampard didn't need any more midfield injuries because the Sky Blues were already missing their architect-in-chief, Jack Rudoni.

During his pre-game news conference on Friday morning, Lampard provided an update on Eccles and Torp, who have five Championship goals this season. He stated that he was optimistic that both players would be included in training before a final decision is made before the journey to Hillsborough.

Lampard provides an update on injuries.
According to Coventry Live, Lampard stated, "Josh had a big problem in his glute which we are managing and hopefully he comes out and trains this morning and then we'll work out whether he's ready for the game."

"We'll train this morning and see how it goes for Victor Torp, who also has an ankle problem.

With almost nothing on the field, the main group is then recuperating. We have a rehabilitation plan in place, and we're always working to make it better so that we can get the players back to their best.

"However, when there is a short turnaround, you try your hardest and hope that the players are in the best possible shape."

Lampard responded, "No, not at the moment," when asked whether there was any new information on Rudoni. He will not be available for weeks.

"Yes, he has a calf injury. It's weeks, not months. We shall see.

POWER RANKINGS: EVALUATING THE SIX SUPERSTARS MOST LIKELY TO DETHRONE DREW MCINTYRE NEXT

Drew McIntyre shocks the world by defeating Cody Rhodes. See the 6 potential challengers and Roman Reigns' rumoured return plans.

Drew McIntyre captures the WWE Undisputed Title

This week on WWE SmackDown, something you don’t see every day happened. Drew McIntyre beat Cody Rhodes in a “three-stages-of-hell” match and took the WWE undisputed title. Not only that, it happened outside of the U.S., which is pretty rare for a title change, especially these days.

Rhodes’ second run as champ ends after five months. It’s a big shift, and word is both he and McIntyre wanted it, with WrestleMania 42 on the horizon. Now, SmackDown’s main title scene just opened up for a lot of wild storytelling. So, who’s lining up to challenge the new champ? Let’s run through six options.

Jacob Fatu

McIntyre owes his win, at least in part, to Jacob Fatu’s unexpected return. Fatu stormed back in, and instead of taking out McIntyre as he planned, his anger ended up costing Rhodes the match during the cage segment. The twist? McIntyre is the guy who supposedly put Fatu out of action for months. Picking up their unfinished business feels almost guaranteed for McIntyre’s first title defence.

Damian Priest

Last week, Damian Priest wrapped up a brutal feud with Aleister Black in an ambulance match, and he made it clear he wants the WWE title next. He and McIntyre already beat each other up in a long, violent rivalry last year. Running it back would make sense, especially since WWE’s been rebuilding Priest’s momentum lately.

Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn, always a crowd favourite, just announced he’s coming for SmackDown’s top prize. The next few shows are set for Montreal and Saudi Arabia—two places where Zayn gets huge reactions. Don’t be shocked if he ends up as the next No. 1 contender and finally gets a shot at his first world title.

Cody Rhodes

Rhodes lost the belt under some pretty questionable circumstances, so a rematch with McIntyre is on the table. But let’s be real, fans have watched these two go at it a lot recently. That’s probably why another one-on-one isn’t likely right now. Instead, Rhodes could get thrown into a multi-man title match to keep him in the mix.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton—legend, part-timer, and always in the hunt—has his eyes on the title too. He had some big matches in 2025, including a title shot against John Cena and a spot in the King of the Ring final. Orton and McIntyre have a history, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see Orton challenge the new champ soon.

And then there’s Roman Reigns. He’s made plenty of Raw appearances this year, but still shows up as a SmackDown guy on WWE’s site. Rumours say his contract’s up after WrestleMania 42, so he could show up and go after McIntyre before then. That would set the stage for his return to the top—and maybe another showdown with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
