REVEALED: THE SECRET ARSENAL INJURY CRISIS THAT MIKEL ARTETA IS DESPERATELY HIDING NOW

Arsenal receive a massive boost for the Carabao Cup quarter-final as Crystal Palace suffers a triple injury blow.

REVEALED: The secret Arsenal injury crisis that Mikel Arteta is desperately hiding now
The "triple blow" destroyed Crystal Palace before the Arsenal showdown.

Arsenal might catch a break before their Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace. Palace is dealing with a bunch of injuries right now.

The Gunners are hosting Oliver Glasner's team at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, and a spot in the semi-finals is up for grabs. Arsenal has been to the semi-finals twice in the last five years, but they haven't been to the final since 2018.

On the other hand, Palace had a great run in the FA Cup last year and won, but they haven't done so well in the Carabao Cup. Arsenal knocked them out last season at this stage, and they haven't seen the semi-finals since 2012.

Both teams played in the Premier League on Saturday night. Arsenal barely won 1-0 against Everton with a penalty from Viktor Gyokeres, while Palace lost to Leeds United.

The short time to get ready for Tuesday's game will be tough for both teams, especially Palace, who have more and more players getting injured. The loss at Elland Road wasn't the only bad news for Glasner this weekend, as Football London says he might have even more players unavailable.

To make things worse for Palace, Ismalia Sarr will be gone representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations against Botswana on Tuesday.

Defender Daniel Munoz is still out because of a knee issue that needs surgery. He won't be back until at least the end of January, so he'll miss Tuesday's game.

Glasner told reporters earlier this month that they will miss Dani for a few weeks while he gets surgery. He should be ready to play four to six weeks after, but you never know after surgery, so they are always careful, but it is not too serious.

Palace is also watching striker Jean-Philippe Mateta closely since he's had a knee problem recently. He played in the game against Leeds but was taken out with just over 10 minutes left.

The packed schedule could give Glasner a tough choice before Tuesday's game, since the French forward has been playing with discomfort, and they're limiting how much he plays. It's not sure if he'll be available for the Arsenal game, but if he is out, it would be a big problem for Palace.

Also, Daichi Kamada will be out for the next few weeks. The midfielder hurt his hamstring earlier this month and will be out for several weeks, so he can't play against the Gunners.

Of course, Arsenal also has their own injury problems. Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, and Gabriel are the defenders they're worried about right now.

SCOUTING REPORT: VIKTOR GYOKERES ENDS GOAL DROUGHT AS ARSENAL SNAPS AWAY LOSING STREAK IN STYLE

Viktor Gyokeres secures Arsenal’s spot at the top of the table for Christmas after a tense 1-0 win and VAR drama at Everton.

Viktor Gyokeres fired Arsenal back to the Premier League summit.

Arsenal is sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League for Christmas after squeezing out a 1-0 victory at Everton, but not without some drama.

Viktor Gyokeres scored the only goal from a penalty in the first half after Jake O'Brien's clumsy handball at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Still, VAR had more to say later.

Everton thought they'd get a penalty when William Saliba appeared to kick Thierno Barry's leg while trying to clear the ball. The ref didn't call it, and VAR took ages checking it before agreeing that Saliba's contact on Barry wasn't enough for a penalty.

Then, there was a close call where Barry, darting towards the goal, got taken down by Martin Zubimendi just outside Arsenal's box, possibly denying him a clear shot. But that one was less obvious.

It was a tough night for Arsenal, who started slow but then took the lead. Before the actual penalty, Gyokeres went down under O'Brien's challenge, but no call. Then, the same O'Brien handled the ball from Declan Rice's corner, an easy penalty decision.

Gyokeres nailed the penalty, ending a five-game goal drought since his last one against Burnley in November before his injury. Arsenal's captain, Martin Odegaard, let him take it, marking the first time in two years that neither Odegaard nor Bukayo Saka took a penalty when on the field.

Arsenal kept Everton from getting any shots off in the first half, which is rare for them at home in the Premier League. But the second half was a different game.

Things got harder for Arsenal with all the penalty shouts flying around, even though Leandro Trossard and Zubimendi both hit the post, and James Tarkowski cleared Saka's shot off the line.

After Manchester City snagged the top spot earlier that day, Arsenal is back on top, snapping a three-game losing streak away stretch in the Premier League.

SIX YEARS OF MIKEL ARTETA: ARSENAL BOSS ADMITS HE MUST EARN FUTURE CONTRACT EXTENSION

Mikel Arteta marks six years at Arsenal with a bold claim: he must prove his worth to stay past his 2027 contract expiration.

Will He Stay?

Mikel Arteta hinted that he might stay at Arsenal after his current contract ends, but also said he needs to earn a new deal.

The game against Everton this Saturday marks six years since the Spaniard became the Gunners' boss.

The 43-year-old has a year and a half left on his contract. He's got a lot of say at the club after turning things around in his six years.

Arteta went from head coach to manager after winning the FA Cup in 2020. People think he's one of the most powerful bosses in the Premier League because he has so much control.

When asked if he could see himself staying with Arsenal past 2027, Arteta said, Yeah, but it's about what's happening now. A lot has to happen in the next few months so I can earn that right. You have to earn the right to be here. It's about how you act, how you talk, how you are in the locker room, the message you send, and how much the players follow you.

I've always said you need support. I've got it from the owners and the great board. But the most important are the players. You talk to them, and they either listen or they don't.

For six years, I've seen players who pay attention, want to learn, and give it their all for the team. That's why I'm still here. Nothing else. And, of course, winning a lot of games, which I think we've done a pretty good job of. If not, you can't last in this job.

Bukayo Saka is talking about a new contract, and Declan Rice is expected to get a new offer soon, too.

When asked if, during these talks, the players ask if Arteta will be around for the long haul, he said, "They do ask me, but I have to be honest with them; I don't know." It's not up to me.

Am I happy here? Do I feel like I have the energy to take this club forward? Yes, 100%. But I don't think it just depends on me. They have to decide based on how they feel.

Plus, it's a good sign when you're talking to a player, and they really want to stay and aren't even considering other options. It means the club is treating them well, and they think this is the place where they can reach their goals.
