ATALANTA MAKE BOLD MOVE — IVAN JURIC SACKED AFTER WEAK START
Atalanta has sacked coach Ivan Juric after a poor start and will replace him with Raffaele Palladino. The former Fiorentina boss, a disciple of Gian Piero Gasperini, is set to sign a contract until 2027.

Despite Atalanta's valuable Champions League victory over Olympique Marseille, the management decided to fire coach Ivan Juric due to his poor performance against Sassuolo. Raffaele Palladino will take over as coach. Juric had been under intense scrutiny since their first loss to Udinese.
According to Corriere della Sera, the Croat defeated the more costly Thiago Motta last summer. La Dea drew a lot but did not lose until the tenth round. They are now nine points out of the top four Champions League spots in 13th place. The manager never seemed to get along with the players, and he and Ademola Lookman recently got into a public argument.
Following Juric, Atalanta will look to Raffaele Palladino, another protégé of Gian Piero Gasperini. He left Fiorentina last summer after placing eighth, allegedly because he did not agree with the administration.
After Stefano Pioli was fired, he was rumoured to have a brief reconciliation with the Viola, but it never materialised. He will sign a deal that will last until 2027. Before relocating to Tuscany, he enjoyed a prosperous tenure at Monza.
Our Opinion on Atalanta
Although it was hardly the most daring move they could have made, it might have succeeded if he had been able to communicate his ideas and have the team play as hard as his Torino teams, where he lacked as much skill. For whatever reason, it hardly ever occurred. It soon became clear that the latter had a better chance lined up and did not seek to return to the Viola. Although it is not always a significant improvement, he has a greater chance of communicating because he is more proactive, sympathetic, adaptable, and less strict than his predecessor.
BOLOGNA 2-0 NAPOLI — ANTONIO CONTE’S DOWNFALL CONTINUES
Noa Lang and David Neres were heroic at both ends, with Lang hitting the post and Neres making a vital goal-line block. The substitutes nearly stole a win in a dramatic finale.

With a shocking 2-0 loss at Bologna, where Thijs Dallinga and Jhon Lucumi were crucial, Napoli continued their winless skid.
Despite injuries to Kevin De Bruyne, Leonardo Spinazzola, Billy Gilmour, Alex Meret, and Romelu Lukaku, the Partenopei were still one point ahead of the leaders after two straight goalless draws against Como and Eintracht Frankfurt. The Rossoblu also lost 0-0 to SK Brann in the Europa League on Thursday after being reduced to ten men for more than an hour. Alongside Nicola Ravaglia and Ciro Immobile, Remo Freuler will be sidelined for two months due to a fractured collarbone.
Bologna had the worst possible start when Lukasz Skorupski was hurt while taking a goal kick. Ravaglia was also out, thus 17-year-old Massimo Pessina made his Serie A debut.
On a corner, Jhon Lucumi nodded just wide of a favourable position, and Rasmus Hojlund's single effort was deflected over.
In minute thirty-two, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic made the first major stop, reaching down to palm the long-range attempt from Jonathan Rowe around the base of the upright.
Rowe also sustained an injury that forced him out at halftime, but Thijs Dallinga missed the near post with a free header.
Bologna took the lead when Dallinga, who was ahead of Amir Rrahmani, flicked in at the near post from six yards out after replacement Nicolò Cambiaghi went down the left and drew back from the by-line.
Hojlund risked more than a yellow card for a reaction foul on Lewis Ferguson, and Orsolini put Milinkovic-Savic to the test with a daring shot at the near post.
After a free kick, Emil Holm stood up a cross from the right and found Lucumi for the header from six yards out, his first Serie A goal, doubling Bologna's advantage.

GIOVANNI MANNA: ANTONIO CONTE CHANGES LEAGUE DYNAMICS, NAPOLI DETERMINED TO RESPOND AGGRESSIVELY
Napoli director Giovanni Manna says Antonio Conte "shifts the balance" of Serie A and makes them an "irritant" to rivals. The club is motivated to stay top of the table ahead of their clash with Bologna.

Antonio Conte "shifts the balance" of Serie A, according to Napoli director Giovanni Manna, and his presence makes them a "irritant" on a sports level. However, there is a warning for those who wish to play more.
At 14.00 GMT, the journey to Bologna begins at the Stadio Dall'Ara.
The Liveblog will provide you with live coverage of all the action and build-up from today's five Serie A games.
Despite being held to back-to-back goalless draws by Como and Eintracht Frankfurt, the Partenopei had a tough run and entered this weekend one point ahead of their rivals in the Serie A standings.
Manna told DAZN Italia, "The work we have done so far has been really constructive; we dealt with the challenges that occurred."
The Serie A hierarchy is "irritated" by Napoli and Conte.
Who was it that Conte was alluding to when he stated in his press conference that some members of the media or the Italian football power structure found Napoli's position at the top of the league "irritating"?
Manna stated, "It is true that we do 'irritate' someone in the media, and we strive to irritate on a sporting level."
Antonio Conte, who is a winner, is on the bench. I believe it is a problem for the others when he shows up at a club like ours.
"I am aware that I did not want him to face my team when I was an opponent. He changes the league's equilibrium, and we are motivated by him to keep up the good work from the previous season.
"We are currently at the top of the table, we know where we want to go this term, and we anticipate a nice game this afternoon."
At present, Napoli's biggest worry is injuries because they are without Romelu Lukaku, Alex Meret, Billy Gilmour, Kevin De Bruyne, and Leonardo Spinazzola, who is only fit for the bench.
Eljif Elmas has forced his way into the starting lineup in place of David Neres and Noa Lang due to these absences.
"Neres has been playing more often, and Lang is also improving." Whether they play five minutes or ninety, the players need to be prepared and put in a lot of effort throughout the week, Manna continued.
"Elmas is adaptable; he can play a variety of midfield or attacking positions, is good one-on-one, can work with teammates, and can also go for the goal." He earned his spot on the team, and the rest need to follow his lead and do the same.
