Recently, a former WWE champion declared that facing CM Punk would be his ideal match. The celebrity further asserted that when he rejoined the company, he was ready to battle The Second City Saint backstage.

Grayson Waller, a 35-year-old star, made the remarks while appearing on "INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet." The "Aussie Icon" responded that he has always wished to face the recently crowned World Heavyweight Champion when asked about his ideal opponent.

Waller reiterated, though, that his goal was to wrestle the "genuine" CM Punk. Since his comeback, the veteran has "changed a lot and gone soft," he said.

Waller brought up the controversy in the locker room that resulted in Punk's AEW release. When the veteran returned to WWE, he claimed he was expecting the same intensity and was let down.

I suppose I was prepared to engage him in combat backstage. That is what we were going to do, I thought," Waller remarked. I thought, 'This is going to be sick,' as if he would start causing trouble and beat up little flops backstage once more. I am in, guy.

According to Waller, the 47-year-old has instead changed into a "kind person" who helps everyone, even "NXT" talent. Waller does not respect or wish to quarrel with this particular form of CM Punk.

But these days, he is just a genuinely good man who helps everyone at NXT and does all of this. I do not like that kind of punk," Waller continued. "I am going to have that chance because I want to bring it back out."

"I have already told Punk directly that I intend to provoke him," he said. "There will come a time when I will stand across from you with a microphone and tell you precisely what I think of you, and I want you to tell me exactly what you think of me," I told him directly.

The new champion already has a big target on his back, even though Waller is concentrating on CM Punk. Punk and Jey Uso faced Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on the latest episode of "Monday Night Raw."

The Vision prevailed in the ensuing melee, but the bout ended in a double count-out. Logan Paul appeared as Punk grabbed a steel chair to counterbalance the heels.

It looked like Paul was going to help Punk fight Breakker and Reed as he stepped into the ring. Rather, he teamed up with The Vision and used brass knuckles to strike the World Heavyweight Champion in the face.

Paul Heyman's new faction, which is now slated for a big bout, was cemented by this onslaught. Logan Paul and The Vision are probably going to collaborate on the next "WarGames" event.

Grayson Waller's ideal match is still a personal ambition, but CM Punk's near future is predetermined. The "Survivor Series: WarGames" main event for the "Raw" brand has been revealed.

Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk will square off in the bout. The Vision, which now consists of Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and its newest member, Logan Paul, will confront them once they enter the cage.

THE REAL REASON WWE REMOVED MICK FOLEY FROM SUPERCARD FOLLOWING DONALD TRUMP CONTROVERSY

Fallout begins as Mick Foley refuses a new WWE Legends deal. Find out how this impacts Foley's future in WWE 2K26 and beyond.

Mick Foley Gone

Looks like Mick Foley and WWE are already splitting up.

Earlier this week, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley said he's leaving the company when his Legends contract is up next year because of WWE's relationship with President Donald Trump. And it seems WWE is already taking steps to cut ties with Foley.

This week’s WarGames event in WWE Supercard was supposed to have a Mick Foley card as “Saint Mick.” This has been a Christmas thing for years in Supercard, and it would’ve been Foley’s fifth time in the game as “Saint Mick.”

But just hours after the event went live, it was pulled without warning. Later, game developer Catdaddy talked about why Foley was removed from the game’s Discord, saying:

“Hey everyone, it’s uncertain what will happen, but it seems we won’t be able to use Mick Foley, sadly. We really liked that card. We're working on another fun one to take its place.”

The replacement? An Austin Theory card showing off his new look from RAW. Thanks, I guess?

Because Foley was removed from WWE Supercard this week, it makes you wonder if he'll be in WWE 2K26. If Foley doesn't have a big part in the next game's story, he could easily be removed, like when WWE had 2K remove Mandy Rose in WWE 2K23 after she was let go by the company in December 2022.

What did Mick Foley say?

On Tuesday morning, Foley went to social media to say he is leaving WWE because of their association with Donald Trump, saying:

“LEAVING WWE. I’ve been worried about WWE’s closeness with Donald Trump for months now—especially with his administration's cruel treatment of immigrants (and anyone who “looks like an immigrant”). But reading the president’s incredibly cruel comments after Rob Reiner’s death is the last straw.

“I don't want to be with a company that supports someone so heartless as he pushes our country to tyranny. Last night, I told @WWE talent relations that I won’t be appearing for the company while this guy is still in office. Plus, I won’t be signing a new Legends deal when this one ends in June. I love WWE and will always like my time there, and I appreciate all the chances they gave me. But, like Popeye the sailor said, “I stand all I can stand, and I can’t stand more.”

PAT MCAFEE APOLOGIZES TO JOHN CENA: DID GUNTHER’S SLEEPER HOLD FORCE EARLY WWE RETIREMENT

Commentator: Sorry for John Cena’s Loss to Gunther

So, Pat McAfee feels bad because he didn't warn John Cena about Gunther's sleeper hold, which might have ended Cena's career in his last WWE match.

Cena's final match was against Gunther at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, and he lost after tapping out to Gunther’s really strong sleeper hold. McAfee later took responsibility for not warning Cena.

On his show, The Pat McAfee Show, the WWE commentator said sorry for not giving Cena a heads-up. He said that he went down the same way and should have texted John earlier: “I should have told him that this is what GUNTHER’s going to try to do. This happened to me.

“I should have told John: he’s going to try the sleeper hold. And when he wraps those big Austrian legs around you like a snake, it’s hard to get out.”

He felt like he missed a chance since he knew how dangerous Gunther’s hold is. “I should have given him a heads up, though, when he was here. I feel like it was a missed chance.”

He also states, “That was my text to Cena right after the finale: I’m sorry, I should have told you ahead what he was going to do.' I guess Cena watched a film, since he's always ready. But his loss made people upset.”

McAfee shared that he also texted NBA star Tyrese Haliburton during the match. “I texted him a few times because he was sitting right behind Michael Cole in the front row. He gave a couple of hashtags to himself in the group text, which I liked. He was there, and that’s not what he expected.

Fans might also remember that McAfee and Gunther don’t get along too well. After WrestleMania 41, when he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso, Gunther attacked both McAfee and Michael Cole on WWE RAW.
