SHOCK: JAKE PAUL’S JAW SMASHED: DISCOVER THE $34 MILLION TAX NIGHTMARE AFTER LOSS
Jake Paul undergoes surgery with titanium plates after a brutal knockout. Check the $267M purse breakdown here
Jake Paul's recent fight at Miami's Kaseya Centre was probably the toughest one he's had yet. He went up against Joshua, a heavyweight champ and Olympic winner, for eight rounds. Paul, the underdog, got knocked down a bunch of times before Joshua finished things with one punch in the sixth round during the match streamed on Netflix.
That right hand from Joshua broke Paul's jaw in two places. He had surgery and got titanium plates put in.
But a broken jaw might be the least of his worries. Turns out, he might lose up to $34 million of what he earned from the fight.
What Jake Paul Really Earned
People have been wondering how much money was in the pot for the fight and how it would be split. The Daily Mail said the total might be around $184 million. Paul replied on X, saying it was actually $267 million.
Oriana Morrison, a sports accountant, thinks Joshua probably got the bigger share. She told The Independent that Joshua could have made $92 million, even if the $184 million number is right.
Morrison also said that the $184 million figure makes this one of the highest-paid fights ever. That is also why Joshua fought an opponent that didn't match his skills.
The fight is up there with Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in 2015 or Mayweather vs. McGregor in 2017. It's bigger than any of the Saudi fights so far.
No matter how the money gets split, Paul's got to pay a lot in taxes. Since he's a US citizen and lives in Puerto Rico, he has to follow US tax laws, says The Mirror. That means he'll be paying 37% in federal taxes.
If the money is split evenly, Paul will have to cough up $34 million in taxes. At least Joshua will be paying even more—about $43.8 million—since he has to pay UK taxes, National Insurance, and also some to the IRS.

JUST IN: LOGAN PAUL BREAKS SILENCE ON ESPN REGARDING JAKE’S FUTURE FIGHTING PLANS
After losing to Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul is pausing boxing to support Jutta Leerdam’s 2026 Olympic gold medal pursuit in Italy.
After his second loss, Jake Paul is switching gears in early 2026.
His business partner gave an update recently, saying that Jake should be back in the ring after he heals up from his broken jaw.
Even though MVP Nakisa Bidarian thinks ‘The Problem Child’ will fight next year, it sounds like the star has other stuff he's more focused on.
Even with folks suggesting matchups with guys like Conor McGregor, those fights don't seem likely. Jake even mentioned last Friday that he wants a break.
Now, his brother is saying it's not just about healing up.
Logan Paul shared some info on what Jake is up to in the coming months.
Logan Paul chilled with Anthony Joshua in the ring after watching his brother lose at the Kaseya Centre in Miami.
Jake has been pretty open about his injuries and how he's recovering after his first loss.
His brother, Logan, talked about Jake's next move on ESPN’s First Take.
Logan said he doesn't know exactly when Jake will be back in the ring, but spilt the beans on something else big that's coming up in Jake's life.
It's not just his jaw that's keeping Jake from getting back into fighting shape ASAP.
“I know for a fact we will see him back in the ring. I also know that his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, is trying to win Olympic gold in speed skating in February. So, our family is really behind Jutta; she is the priority. If we can add an Olympic gold medalist to the family, the Pauls will be going nuts.”
Logan Paul thinks Jake Paul’s loss went ‘exactly as it was supposed to.’
Logan Paul thought Jake might surprise Anthony Joshua in the ring.
But on ESPN’s First Take, he said it's easy to get caught up in what his brother believes he can make happen.
“Logically, I think it went down as it should have,” Logan said. I don’t think many people thought Jake would beat Anthony Joshua.
“Being his brother and close to him, he has this strong conviction that makes you believe. He can bend reality into his vision, which makes you think he'll win. Still, I think the fight went completely as I expected.”
