SHOCK REVEALED: THE "INSANE" SECRET BEHIND EL KAABI’S GRAVITY-DEFYING BICYCLE KICK GOAL

Ayoub El Kaabi’s stunning bicycle kick secures a 2-0 win for Morocco after a nightmare injury to captain Saiss.

SHOCK REVEALED: The "insane" secret behind El Kaabi’s gravity-defying bicycle kick goal
Ayoub El Kaabi officially stuns AFCON

Ayoub El Kaabi's crazy overhead kick helped Morocco, the host country, beat Comoros 2-0 in the first game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). This is the fourth time in a row that the host nation has won its opening match.

But getting to that point took a lot of patience from the Moroccan players and fans. The team that made it to the 2022 World Cup semi-finals missed a huge chance to score early. Only 11 minutes into the game, Iyad Mohamed made a dumb foul on Brahim Diaz, and the ref had no choice but to call a penalty.

But Comoros' goalie, Yannick Pandor, saved Mohamed from embarrassment by stopping Soufiane Rahimi's penalty with his leg.

Then, things got worse for Morocco both on and off the field. Just eight minutes later, their captain, Romain Saiss, who looked like he was about to cry, had to be replaced by Jawad El Yamiq because of an injury that might end his tournament.

The first half ended badly for the Atlas Lions when VAR and the ref turned down their appeal for another penalty. They decided that Díaz had touched the ball with his hand before being challenged by Ahmed Soilihi.

But Morocco finally took the lead nine minutes into the second half; Manchester and Madrid teamed up. Noussair Mazraoui, who loves to run down the left wing, made a perfect pass to Diaz, who blasted the ball past Pandor from right in front of the penalty spot.

Soon after, it almost became 2-0, but Pandor barely managed to stop Mazraoui from scoring.

Anyway, the Atlas Lions sealed the deal in the 74th minute when substitute El Kaabi scored an amazing goal with a bicycle kick that flew into the net. It might be the best goal of the whole tournament.

That great second half helped Morocco stretch their unbeaten home record to nine games. Their next game in the 2025 AFCON is against Mali on Friday.

Comoros played well against one of the favourites in the tournament, especially considering it's only their second time in the competition. Their next game is against Zambia, which should give them a better idea of their chances of moving forward.

THE "NEXT POGBA" SECRET: WHY ARSENAL AND PSG ARE FIGHTING FOR AYYOUB BOUADDI

Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi is at the centre of a €60m battle between PSG, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United before January.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is officially Europe’s most wanted 18-year-old star

Word on the street is that Lille's hotshot young player, Ayyoub Bouaddi, will probably stay in France if he moves during the January window. But get this: Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool from the English Premier League are also sniffing around!

This 18-year-old midfield star is turning heads all over Europe as the January transfer window gets closer.

Even though he just signed a new contract until 2029, Paris Saint-Germain is really trying hard to get him to stay in Ligue 1. They're making a big push!

Bouaddi has been amazing for Lille this season, playing a bunch in both French league games and European matches.

People are saying he’s got a great mix of calm, strength, and smarts on the field. Scouts are even comparing him to a young Paul Pogba.

Lille now values him at around €60 million because of his new contract. But sources say PSG is talking to him, using his family ties and the fact that he could stay in France as reasons to pick them over foreign teams.

Still, the big boys in the Premier League are watching closely.

Chelsea might make a quick move in January, offering around €45-50 million and then loaning him to Strasbourg to help him grow as a player.

Manchester United thinks Bouaddi could take over for older players like Casemiro in the future. They've been watching him a lot.

Arsenal has already talked to his people, and Liverpool thinks he could be a player for the next ten years. Even Manchester City likes what they see.

Real Madrid and other big European clubs like Bayern Munich and Juventus are also interested, which makes things even more competitive.

Lille's president, Olivier Letang, says Bouaddi is a key part of their plans. But it sounds like the club would sell if they got a huge offer that meets what they think he's worth.

He's playing great, especially in the Champions League, so his next move could really shape his career.

Will PSG manage to keep one of France's best young talents, or will the money and fame of the Premier League win out?

Things are going to get interesting in the next few weeks as these clubs fight for him!

Hugo Broos is "terrified" of a repeat Mali disaster tonight

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is pushing for a solid start at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Their first game is against Angola at the Grand Stade de Marrakech at 6 p.m. tonight.

Bafana is in a hard Group B with Angola, Egypt, and Zimbabwe. Broos says bagging a win in tonight's opener is key to setting the right tone.

In the last AFCON in Ivory Coast, Bafana kicked things off with a loss to Mali, and Broos really wants to avoid that happening again in Morocco.

Broos told the media before the game, "We’re really glad we can kick off the tournament and play our first match." We know Angola's a tough team, but my guys are ready, and this first match is really important.

He went on to say that winning this match would boost their chances of getting out of the group stage. They're aiming for the win to set them up well for their second match with Egypt.

Bafana captain Ronwen Williams thinks their experience in Ivory Coast, where they took third place, will be a plus this time. They're aiming to do even better in Morocco and also said how important it is to start strong.

Williams mentioned that pre-tournament prep was a bit weird since the players based in Europe joined the camp late.

But once everyone was there, the vibe got better, and training improved. The last few days have been good; training's been solid, and you can tell the guys know they're at AFCON. The quality of training has gone up too. So, things have been much better lately. "We've looked good as a team, and we know how important it is to get the tournament off to a good start," Williams said.

We're excited to get going and ready to show what we can do.
