REVEALED: The heartbreaking truth behind Romain Saiss’s tearful 18th-minute injury exit today
Captain Romain Saiss is officially sidelined after a shocking ankle injury collapse

Morocco finally got things going, and the main feeling on Sunday was relief after they beat Comoros 2-0 in their first Africa Cup of Nations game.

The rain didn't help the mood, and a shaky start, including a missed penalty, showed how much pressure the home team was under. People expect them to win, but they haven't won this cup in 50 years.

They only managed to score in the second half of the Group A game. Brahim Diaz and Ayoub El Kaabi got the goals, but the score could have been higher because the smaller team got tired near the end.

"It's hard to start a competition," said Morocco coach Walid Regragui, who took them to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.

The first game is always tough, but we got it done. It mattered to win our first game in front of our fans, to start the competition well.

We've prepared for this game for a year and a half and put a lot of pressure on ourselves.

The game started badly, with the missed penalty and Romain Saiss having to come off.

The Morocco captain, who was out for the first half of the year with an ankle injury, had to leave the field after 18 minutes after a simple push. He was very upset.

There was no news about how bad the injury was.

I wasn't happy with the team at halftime, so I made some changes, and the guys did them quickly, Regragui said.

Real Madrid’s Diaz scored the first goal 10 minutes after halftime and was named man of the match.

“We needed to make a lot of chances because they had all 11 players defending, so it was a hard game,” Diaz said.

“We need to get better and create chances to score.”

Morocco will likely have a harder game against Mali next Friday.

THE "NEXT POGBA" SECRET: WHY ARSENAL AND PSG ARE FIGHTING FOR AYYOUB BOUADDI

Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi is at the centre of a €60m battle between PSG, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United before January.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is officially Europe’s most wanted 18-year-old star

Word on the street is that Lille's hotshot young player, Ayyoub Bouaddi, will probably stay in France if he moves during the January window. But get this: Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool from the English Premier League are also sniffing around!

This 18-year-old midfield star is turning heads all over Europe as the January transfer window gets closer.

Even though he just signed a new contract until 2029, Paris Saint-Germain is really trying hard to get him to stay in Ligue 1. They're making a big push!

Bouaddi has been amazing for Lille this season, playing a bunch in both French league games and European matches.

People are saying he’s got a great mix of calm, strength, and smarts on the field. Scouts are even comparing him to a young Paul Pogba.

Lille now values him at around €60 million because of his new contract. But sources say PSG is talking to him, using his family ties and the fact that he could stay in France as reasons to pick them over foreign teams.

Still, the big boys in the Premier League are watching closely.

Chelsea might make a quick move in January, offering around €45-50 million and then loaning him to Strasbourg to help him grow as a player.

Manchester United thinks Bouaddi could take over for older players like Casemiro in the future. They've been watching him a lot.

Arsenal has already talked to his people, and Liverpool thinks he could be a player for the next ten years. Even Manchester City likes what they see.

Real Madrid and other big European clubs like Bayern Munich and Juventus are also interested, which makes things even more competitive.

Lille's president, Olivier Letang, says Bouaddi is a key part of their plans. But it sounds like the club would sell if they got a huge offer that meets what they think he's worth.

He's playing great, especially in the Champions League, so his next move could really shape his career.

Will PSG manage to keep one of France's best young talents, or will the money and fame of the Premier League win out?

Things are going to get interesting in the next few weeks as these clubs fight for him!

Hugo Broos demands an immediate win against Angola as Bafana Bafana begins their 2025 AFCON journey in Morocco.

Hugo Broos is "terrified" of a repeat Mali disaster tonight

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is pushing for a solid start at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Their first game is against Angola at the Grand Stade de Marrakech at 6 p.m. tonight.

Bafana is in a hard Group B with Angola, Egypt, and Zimbabwe. Broos says bagging a win in tonight's opener is key to setting the right tone.

In the last AFCON in Ivory Coast, Bafana kicked things off with a loss to Mali, and Broos really wants to avoid that happening again in Morocco.

Broos told the media before the game, "We’re really glad we can kick off the tournament and play our first match." We know Angola's a tough team, but my guys are ready, and this first match is really important.

He went on to say that winning this match would boost their chances of getting out of the group stage. They're aiming for the win to set them up well for their second match with Egypt.

Bafana captain Ronwen Williams thinks their experience in Ivory Coast, where they took third place, will be a plus this time. They're aiming to do even better in Morocco and also said how important it is to start strong.

Williams mentioned that pre-tournament prep was a bit weird since the players based in Europe joined the camp late.

But once everyone was there, the vibe got better, and training improved. The last few days have been good; training's been solid, and you can tell the guys know they're at AFCON. The quality of training has gone up too. So, things have been much better lately. "We've looked good as a team, and we know how important it is to get the tournament off to a good start," Williams said.

We're excited to get going and ready to show what we can do.
