To make things more efficient, the club let go of staff in different areas. These changes are reflected in the latest financial report. Man.U. confirmed their profit in the first quarter on Thursday.
CEO Omar Berrada said that these solid numbers show how strong Man.U. is as they work to change the club.
Berrada said that the tough choices they made in the last year have led to lower costs and a better organisation. The club is now set up to improve both on and off the field in the long run.
He added that this has helped them invest in both the men's and women's teams. The men are currently sixth in the Premier League, while the women are third in the Super League. Sales are actually down by 2%, mainly because of less money from European broadcasts and two fewer home games compared to last year.
Man UTD is currently sixth in the Premier League and aiming to qualify for European competition this season. Playing in the Champions League would bring in extra cash.
A strong showing over Christmas will be important, with games coming up against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Wolves. Several players, including Bryan Mbeumo, Amad, and Noussair Mazraoui, will be out for most of those games due to AFCON.
