FLORENTINO PéREZ DEMANDS FREE BROADCASTING FROM LA LIGA AGM PLATFORM

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez used the club's General Assembly to fiercely attack rivals, defending the Super League and criticising La Liga's Miami game and Barcelona's Negreira case.

Pérez Slams La Liga And Calls For Broadcasting To Be Free

At a recent Real Madrid general assembly, club president Florentino Pérez shared his plans for the team's future, touching on ownership, investments, and taking shots at rivals.

Pérez spoke passionately to club members in person and online, reaffirming the club's position on issues like the European Super League and the idea of a La Liga game in Miami, tying these stances to Real Madrid's core values.

I heard someone say Real Madrid opposes everything. That's not true. "We just disagree with what's not normal, ethical, or legal," Pérez stated.

He continued, It's not right or legal to stop clubs from creating their own tournaments, as three courts have decided about the Super League. It's also not right for UEFA to force European clubs into competition formats that favour them, which hurts the spectacle and the fans.

Pérez repeated his call for free game broadcasts, a key part of the Super League proposal.

In the 21st century, watching soccer on TV is too expensive. Tech allows for even free options that would help fans, he said, calling soccer an expensive product that pushes fans to cheaper entertainment.

Pérez criticised La Liga and the idea of playing a match in Miami.

Pérez called out figures like La Liga president Javier Tebas and Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán.

It's not right for the heads of La Liga and the Federation, who should protect the competition's integrity, to promote a game that distorts La Liga, he said about the Miami game idea involving Barcelona and Villarreal.

He added, It's not right for them to let Barcelona play one less game on their opponent's field. Even their own captain, Frenkie de Jong, thinks it's weird. And Tebas is comparing this to the NFL's event at the Bernabéu, making up stories to bash Real Madrid.”

He also pointed out that the directors of both organisations earn over €6 million a year, more than Premier League executives, even though the Premier League makes way more money.

Barcelona also faced criticism regarding the Negreira case.

Pérez added, It's definitely not right that Barcelona paid the referees' vice-president over €8 million for at least 17 years, no matter the reason.

He noted that the vice-president, who everyone knows was important in the refereeing system, was in charge of promotions and demotions each season. This period happened to align with Barcelona's best sports results.

DROPPED POINTS: ELCHE STUNS MADRID; JUDE BELLINGHAM FORCES LATE DRAW

A late Jude Bellingham goal salvaged a 2-2 draw for Real Madrid against Elche, extending their winless run to three matches. The result moves Madrid one point above Barcelona in the La Liga title race.

Late Bellingham Equalizer Masks Poor Performance

Real Madrid managed a 2-2 draw against Elche in the Spanish league this Sunday, thanks to an 87th-minute goal by Jude Bellingham. This keeps their winless streak at three games.

Bellingham's late goal saved Madrid after they had to come back from behind twice during the match.

This result puts Madrid just one point ahead of Barcelona. Barcelona had an effortless 4-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, marking their return to their updated Camp Nou Stadium.

Before this game, Madrid had a 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish league and a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the Champions League group stage. Before these games, Xabi Alonso's team had a great run, winning 13 of 14 matches at the start of the season.

The team is still fighting, Alonso said. The results and how we play could be better. We're honest with ourselves, but the team's spirit is still strong. We need to keep going even when things get tough. This is Real Madrid, and we have to deal with criticism.

Elche took the lead with a goal from Aleix Febas in the 53rd minute, but Dean Huijsen scored his first goal for Madrid in the 78th minute to level the score. Álvaro Rodríguez put Elche ahead again in the 84th minute, but Bellingham scored three minutes later from inside the box.

Vinícius Júnior, a forward for Madrid, entered the game in the second half.

"We discussed it, like we often do," Alonso said about Vinícius. He gets it. He knew what his job was and the impact he could make. We've done this before. He's still committed. Today, we're not as happy as we'd like to be, but everyone is motivated and looking forward to getting back to winning and building positive momentum.

Madrid's next match is against Olympiakos on Wednesday in the Champions League group stage.

Elche's Víctor Chust was sent off late in injury time.

Elche is currently in 11th place and hasn't won in its last six league games.

An own goal by Domingos Duarte in the 82nd minute allowed Atletico Madrid to secure a tough 1-0 victory against Getafe, who are in seventh place.

This was Atletico's fifth straight win in all competitions since their 4-0 loss against Arsenal in the Champions League group stage last month. Diego Simeone's team has won five league games in a row.

Veteran midfielder Koke made his 700th appearance for Atletico.

Atletico's Marcos Llorente had to leave the game early, less than 15 minutes in, due to an injury.

Simeone couldn't use goalkeeper Jan Oblak because of an injury he picked up while playing for Slovenia during the international break. Forward Giuliano Simeone was also unavailable.

Real Betis, who are in fifth place, could only manage a 1-1 draw against Girona, who are fighting to avoid relegation.

Vladyslav Vanat put Girona in the lead in the 20th minute, but Valentín Gómez equalised for Betis in the 75th minute. Betis forward Antony was sent off in injury time for hitting an opponent in the head with his leg while attempting a bicycle kick.

The game between Oviedo, who are in last place, and Rayo Vallecano, who are in 13th place, ended in a 0-0 draw in Oviedo. Oviedo's Ilyas Chaira received a red card in the 52nd minute, and Rayo's Pathé Ciss was ejected in injury time.

Oviedo hasn't won in their last seven matches in all competitions, while Rayo hasn't won in their last three league games.

WHAT WAS SAID ? XABI ALONSO DELIVERS TWO POWERFUL SPEECHES TO INSPIRE TEAM VS ELCHE

Xabi Alonso demands a Clasico-level performance from Real Madrid against Elche. He's tasked his star trio of Mbappé, Vinicius, and Bellingham with defined roles to rediscover their form.

Alonso Rips Into Dressing Room Ahead Of Elche Showdown

Real Madrid did not feel good going into the international pause, as they had lost one game and tied another in their previous two games before the break.

It seemed the break came when they were doing their worst this season, so there's a lot of hope for tonight's game against Elche.

Just one month ago, Los Blancos beat the strong Barcelona team at the Santiago Bernabeu and then played Valencia at home, beating them by a score of 4-0. Now, they hope to perform just as well again.

As mentioned in a recent story by AS, Xabi Alonso is telling his team that they need to play as well as they did against Barcelona in El Clásico.

That means having the same fighting spirit, pressure, and running that they showed against Hansi Flick's team last month, but appeared to lose right after that game.

A key part of what Alonso is telling his team depends on Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Jude Bellingham.

The manager now says they need to understand each other and share roles and responsibilities differently than before.

This suggests that each player should focus on what they are good at and perform well on the field in that area to get the best results. Getting in each other's way does not help anyone.

The three players get along well, and the coaches have explained clearly what each player is supposed to do on the field. It will be interesting to see how well they work together tonight.

After tonight's game against Elche, Real Madrid has three more tough games away from home, and how they start today will greatly affect which direction their performance goes. A lot is at stake.
