IDRISSA GUEYE CONFIDENT EVERTON TEAMMATE OWNS QUALITIES FOR FUTURE GREATNESS

Senegal star Idrissa Gueye backs Everton teammate Iliman Ndiaye to win the Ballon d'Or. Gueye says the 25-year-old has a "unique combination" of talent and believes he can be the next African to win the prestigious award.

Iliman Ndiaye has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, according to Idrissa Gueye.

This season, the 25-year-old has dominated the Premier League, scoring four goals and dazzling defenders with his tricks on David Moyes' right flank.

Since the beginning of the season, several highlight clips of his matchday antics have gone viral as the larger football community begins to recognise his talent.

That talent might propel Ndiaye to the pinnacle of success, and possibly to the Ballon d'Or award that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo previously controlled, according to Gueye, his teammate from Everton and Senegal. The only African player to win the coveted prize is George Weah.

"I challenge [Ndiaye] every game, every time we play," Gueye stated. I talk to him all the time. He listens a lot, is a good guy, and I am, in a sense, his grandbrother. I always thought he would succeed at Everton, and to be honest, I have not seen his best yet.

"I train with him every day, so I get to see his qualities and his potential every day. All he needs to do is have high standards for himself, believe in himself, and keep working hard. When he first came here, I told him that he had the qualities, the technique, the skills, and everything to be the next African Ballon d'Or winner. I have never seen a mix like his before.

After leaving Marseille in the summer of 2024, Ndiaye had a successful debut season on Merseyside. Since Moyes took over in January, his attacking abilities have become more apparent, and the Blues manager has given him more latitude to run at full-backs.

That was best demonstrated by his incredible solo goal against Tottenham Hotspur, which gave Moyes the first victory of his second season as Everton's manager.

And despite being transferred to the right wing this season, he has not turned around. His incredible solo performance at Sunderland is the pinnacle of a season in which his cunning has given teammates other incredible opportunities, including one against Manchester City.

Speaking to the Everton club's media, Gueye stated, "He is a modest man. A really nice person. He enjoys playing and joking with everyone, thus he is not shy. He is humble and never stops working hard, thus no one ever has an issue with him. Even in those early movies, you can tell how hard he works, which is a result of his constant desire to improve.

Moyes has expressed similar admiration for Ndiaye and his dedication both on and off the field. In a recent interview with the ECHO, Moyes acknowledged that his level of skill had taken him by surprise. When I first arrived, I was unsure if he would add objectives to our existing ones since he stated, "If your nines are not obtaining them, you are saying where else are we getting the goals?" Are our wingers entering the game or our centre-half scoring from set pieces?

I must admit that when I initially arrived, I wondered if Ili would provide us with enough goals. However, he has given us significant goals and assists, and I genuinely believe that he has improved.

Even if his performances are drawing attention, Moyes remains optimistic about Ndiaye's future at Everton. But the constant worry is how to deal with his and Gueye's absence when Senegal travels to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations in December and January.

"I typically think that he has improved considerably," Moyes stated. We do not have to worry about that because he has a long-term contract here. We do like him, and he is a very pleasant youngster to deal with. He is low maintenance, plays the entire game, and never complains.

"He leaves with Senegal and returns to play, so from that perspective, he is a pretty decent child; therefore, we like him a lot."

THE ALGERIAN SECRET: WHY FULHAM AND PALACE ARE SCOUTING PARIS FC'S KEBBAL

Ilan Kebbal transfer race heats up

Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Sunderland are all tracking Paris FC’s Ilan Kebbal for a possible January move, sources tell Football Insider.

Kebbal, 27, has turned heads in Ligue 1 this season. He’s bagged six goals and four assists in just 16 matches for the Paris club—not bad at all. All three clubs want to boost their attack and see Kebbal as a real option out wide.

Right now, Kebbal’s on international duty with Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, though he hasn’t started yet—he’s been on the bench for their first three games.

Crystal Palace has another headache: Eddie Nketiah is out for at least a month with a hamstring problem. The club’s desperate to find a replacement.

Across the league, teams are scrambling for attacking talent. West Ham look set to bring in Fulham’s Adama Traore, with that deal close to final. Traore has barely started under Marco Silva this season, mostly coming off the bench, so Fulham will need someone new in his spot.

Sunderland, meanwhile, is about to get some extra cash. Birmingham City wants to keep Patrick Roberts permanently after his loan spell, and that deal looks likely.

Fulham, Palace, and Sunderland are all trying to beef up their squads for a top-half push in the Premier League’s second half. The middle of the table is a real logjam—just seven points separate fourth-placed Liverpool and 14th-placed Brighton—so everyone’s looking for that extra edge.

As for Kebbal, his story’s pretty interesting. He joined Paris FC in 2023 for less than £2 million from Stade Reims, after a solid loan run. He handled the jump from Ligue 2 to top-flight football without missing a beat, putting in standout performances even though Paris FC have been flirting with the relegation zone.

One game stands out: late October, against Lyon. Paris FC was 3-0 down. Then Lyon’s Abner got sent off for a foul on Kebbal. Kebbal didn’t just shake it off—he led the comeback, scoring a brilliant goal from outside the box and then setting up the equaliser in the 84th minute. He’s making people notice, and you can see why these clubs want him.

BREAKING: WEST HAM RUSH MEDICAL FOR GIL VICENTE STRIKER PABLO FELIPE THIS FRIDAY

West Ham is finalising a deal for Gil Vicente striker Pablo Felipe. Discover how the 21-year-old poacher fits Nuno's 2026 plans.

West Ham set to seal £17m Pablo Felipe deal before January opener

West Ham United is checking out other markets for attacking players before January. Pablo Felipe might be the one, as talks are pretty far along. So, who is he?

Born in Portugal but raised in Brazil, Pablo grew up playing soccer in Europe. His dad, Penna, used to play for FC Porto, but Pablo is making a name for himself.

He came up through Famalicao’s academy, and then Gil Vicente signed him last year for about €250,000. It was a cheap move that paid off right away.

West Ham is watching him because he knows how to be in the right place at the right time in the box.

The 21-year-old plays for Gil Vicente and is having a killer season in the Primeira Liga. He’s already scored 10 goals in 13 league games.

Pablo seems like a classic striker who hangs out in the box, but he doesn’t just push people around. Out of his 22 shots in the league, 20 were from inside the box, and none were from outside. That means he’s good at timing, knowing where to be, and moving well, instead of just taking random shots.

He can score in different ways, but he keeps it close. Pablo has scored five goals with his right foot, three with his left, and two headers—all inside the box. He’s hit the target with 14 of his shots, which shows he can stay cool when it counts.

He’s quick and knows where to stand, instead of just being strong. He’s good in the air, but his headers come from running into the right spot at the right time, not from fighting for every ball.

He figures out the game early and goes for it, instead of always battling with the defenders.

How he'd jump into West Ham's play

Even though he’s a number nine, Pablo doesn’t just stand around. He’s often in the middle of the attack, both just outside and inside the box. He drops back to help connect plays and then quickly attacks when he sees an opening.

He’s not a winger and doesn’t go wide to cross the ball. Pablo hasn’t tried to cross at all this season and has only taken two shots from outside the box. He’s all about scoring and making short passes instead of trying to get creative from the wings.

Pablo works hard and is always moving. He gets caught offside a lot because he’s always testing the defence. He’s also good at pressing and winning the ball back quickly.

He’d fit well in a fast-paced system where he can be active instead of just waiting for the ball.

Why he’s a good choice

Pablo Felipe has been getting better little by little. He had some trouble with injuries last season, but now he seems confident.

He’s scored in every one of Gil Vicente’s league wins and has already won a few awards in Portugal this season.

Plus, he has citizenship in both countries (Brazil and Portugal), but wants to play for Portugal internationally. He missed out on playing for their youth team because of paperwork issues.

He’s been playing soccer in Europe for a while and plans to stay.

So, Pablo Felipe is a young striker who is good at scoring, moving, and being efficient. That’s why West Ham is talking to him about joining in January.
