ANTHONY ELANGA’S SWEDEN EXIT CASTS DOUBT ON NEWCASTLE VS MAN CITY

Anthony Elanga's withdrawal from the Sweden team this week and the uncertainty surrounding his availability for this weekend's match against Man City will be devastating to Newcastle United supporters.

The summer acquisition has had a difficult start at Newcastle United, failing to garner game time in recent weeks and failing to make the expected impression on the field.

Despite his evident skill, Anthony Elanga has not yet found his footing at Newcastle. However, this most recent development is all the more upsetting because Elanga has been a bright spot for Sweden throughout this international break.

Due to his early return to Newcastle, he will not be playing against Slovenia on Tuesday night as planned.

According to a press release from the Swedish national team (via Fotboll Skanalen), press manager Petra Thorén stated that Elanga had to leave international duty on Monday for "private reasons."

Elanga has withdrawn from Sweden duty twice for the same reason, the first time being in June of this year.

What specifically has happened to Elanga at this time, and how serious the situation is, are unknown. It is unclear if this will affect Eddie Howe's selection on Saturday, but it certainly does not seem good for Elanga's possible participation.

Elanga has stated that momentum is essential to his success at Newcastle, so it would be quite upsetting if he could not play after Sweden's strong showing over the weekend.

The fact that Elanga played on the left wing for Sweden rather than the right wing has been one of the main topics of discussion this week. It goes without saying that some have said he should now play for Newcastle.

We thought Elanga might fill that position in our projected starting lineup for Newcastle vs. Man City on Saturday. Even though that location is now in danger, Howe should still consider it going forward.

Given that results have not been going his way, the Newcastle manager needs to try new approaches, and someone like Elanga must contribute to that new approach.

He is a dynamic player with the ability to create things, and Newcastle is sorely lacking in that right now, particularly with Anthony Gordon out. Elanga must participate if he is free this weekend. Howe should bring him in as soon as possible if he is unavailable.

NEWCASTLE DEFENDER DAN BURN ENDURES TOUGH ENGLAND PERFORMANCE DURING ALBANIA CHALLENGE

Dan Burn struggled in England's 2-0 win over Albania, earning low ratings from the national media. The Newcastle defender was criticized for his ball-playing ability in a difficult outing.

As Thomas Tuchel's team finished their World Cup qualifying campaign with a perfect record, England had to exercise patience to break the impasse against Albania on Sunday.

After defeating Albania 2-0 yesterday night, the Three Lions advanced to the top of the group with a maximum of 24 points, 22 goals for, and 0 against. Those statistics are hard not to be impressed by.

Thomas Tuchel has experimented to establish his ideal starting lineup, so it has not always been an enjoyable watch, but what counts is that he is doing the job.

Dan Burn, the sole England representative still playing for Newcastle United, played the entire game last night but never really got going, and the national media's ratings showed that.

"He has done the best he can for Newcastle." Carra thinks Howe is disappointed.

Dan Burn struggled against Albania on Sunday, according to the national media. While his defending wasn't heavily criticised, there is concern about his ability with the ball. Even in ITV's highlights, Burn made a surprising mistake that gave Albania a great chance.

Burn received a rating of 5 out of 10 from The Standard, The Telegraph, The Express, and GOAL. They noted that the big man faced challenges.

His performance was described as difficult at times, especially after Albania started strongly in the second half. This showed why he is more suited to being a squad player than a starter.

This week, Dan Burn has a weekend off. Having played a lot for both club and country this season, he is likely feeling tired by now.

Fortunately, he gets this weekend off because he received a red card against Brentford and will be suspended for Newcastle's match against Manchester City.

Fans have been calling for more speed down the left side to support Anthony Gordon. As Lewis Hall returns to full fitness, he will likely start

£65M STRIKER NICK WOLTEMADE REACTS TO BAYERN CHIEF CALLING NEWCASTLE ‘IDIOTS’

Bayern Munich director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge called Newcastle "idiots" for their club-record £69m signing of striker Nick Woltemade. The German star has now responded to the insult, while a former Magpie has hit back.

Rummenigge, a member of the Bayern board, called the Magpies "idiots" for shelling out a huge transfer fee after missing out on one of their top summer transfer targets. He even mockingly praised Stuttgart for making money. Over the summer, the Bundesliga champions made many attempts to sign the German striker, with their final offer apparently coming close to €60 million (£52 million/$70 million). However, Stuttgart would not allow the player to depart for less than their asking price of €75 million (£65 million/$87 million). In the end, a frantic Newcastle finished the deal with a club-record £69 million bid.

"I can only congratulate them at Stuttgart for finding, so to speak, a fool who would spend that much money, because we surely would not have done that," Rummenigge remarked in an interview with Blickpunkt Sport. We are entering on a scale that I no longer find appropriate, I remarked. We should not comply with every one of their requests.

"Players and their representatives need to be cautious not to put themselves in a difficult situation. There must be a source of funding, and that source is growing existing tournaments or starting new ones.

In response to Rummenigge's remarks, Woltemade

Finally responding to Rummenigge's remarks, the Magpies star told BILD: "My teammates made comments about it, but I didn't. That, in my opinion, was the proper course of action. Throughout the summer, my name, Bayern, and the transfer cost were the talk of the town. The headlines everywhere said 'idiots,' to answer your question. I did read Mr Rummenigge's complete speech, though, and while it was regrettable, it was not quite that dramatic.

"Everyone congratulated me when I got to the national team. The Bayern players congratulated me as well. They congratulate you when they see a player step forward. That also applied to me. Since my situation was unique, there were no unfavourable remarks.

A former Newcastle player retaliated against Rummenigge

Chris Waddle, a former winger for Newcastle, responded to the Bayern chief's critical remarks by telling BestBettingSites, "They likely believed they had him at a lower cost. Newcastle has searched for a centre-forward following the Isak scandal. After looking around, they wondered who was available. Woltemade has drawn their attention due to his skill as a gamer. He is a tall man. He moves around a lot. In theory, he is OK.

"Bayern Munich believed that he was a guy they could sign who could take Harry Kane's spot in a few years." They most likely believed they had struck a bargain. However, Newcastle entered, and I believe that is a touch of sour grapes. Newcastle has, in my opinion, offered a better deal, higher pay, and better terms overall. Bayern Munich would most likely believe that they could acquire him for the amount they believe he is worth. They believe Newcastle is overpaid. Time will tell.

Since joining the Premier League from the Bundesliga in the summer, Woltemade has had an immediate impact. He has so far made 14 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions, scoring seven goals, four of which have come in eight league games.

Additionally, he has constantly produced for his country's squad. Most recently, he scored two goals in Germany's thrilling victory over Luxembourg, which preserved their chances of earning a direct spot at the World Cup the following year. On Monday, when the four-time world champions take on Slovakia, the 23-year-old will return to play for Germany.
