After all the excitement surrounding Lennart Karl of Bayern Munich this season, it is easy to forget that he had been repeatedly connected to leaving the team in previous years. Karl was nearing the end of his contract, and teams like Real Madrid and Ajax had been linked to a bid for the former Eintracht Frankfurt youth star. Just before the 2025–2026 season, he eventually signed a contract with Bayern, committing to the team for the near future with less than a year left on it.
The German champions may already be considering offering him a new deal as a reward. Fabrizio Romano undoubtedly raises the possibility that this is the case:
Because of Lennart Karl's recent performances, Bayern is quite pleased with him and, only a few months after he signed a new contract, they are already talking about the potential of another one by altering its structure. Karl's future path is being prepared by Bayern.
It should be mentioned, of course, that Karl was always likely to get a second contract extension quickly. He was unable to sign for more than three years because he was only 17 when he signed his most recent contract with Bayern and was not yet legally an adult. His birthday is in February, and like Jamal Musiala, he is likely to sign a new deal with Bayern that will keep him there for up to five years once he turns eighteen.
HARRY KANE BREAKS SILENCE ON BARCELONA TALK REVEALING HE’LL DECIDE SOON

Despite rumours that Harry Kane is being considered to succeed him, Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski stated that he will decide on his future "soon." Barca is preparing for life without the 37-year-old Lewandowski as his contract with the team expires at the conclusion of this season.
Kane should only have a year left on his Bayern Munich contract by June, at which point a £57 million release clause will be activated. Barcelona is expected to make a move, although Tottenham, the former team, has first refusal.
The La Liga champions consider 32-year-old Kane to be the perfect replacement for Lewandowski, whom the England captain essentially replaced at Bayern this week. However, it is not ruled out that Barcelona might offer Lewandowski a new contract because Kane has stated publicly that he is willing to extend his contract with the German powerhouses.
The striker, who scored a hat-trick in Barcelona's most recent game against Celta Vigo, has not made up his mind, which has added to the uncertainty. Before helping to set up the first goal in Poland's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Friday, Lewandowski told TVP Sport, "I will soon be ready to determine which road I want to take and I will see what my alternatives are."
"I am at ease. In a few months, I have no idea where I will be or what I want to do. I am not in a rush, and I do not have to accomplish anything."
Lewandowski is happy at Barca, and he and his family are established in Spain, despite the veteran acknowledging that he is "nearing the end" of his career. "Knowing that there are so many young boys over 18 at Barcelona definitely encourages me," he continued.
"They provide me with a significant energy boost. I am really at ease with them. I recall what I did at their age when I was a teenager. Some of my teammates' parents are younger than myself. They are like fathers to me. It is humorous but really uplifting.

"I had a really fantastic season last year. I won multiple trophies and scored a lot of goals, which attests to my excellent skill.
"Even though I am nearing the conclusion of my football career, I want to make the most of it both emotionally and athletically. I want to make the most of this moment and savour it."
MANUEL NEUER NEARS FINAL WHISTLE: BAYERN REVEAL CONTRACT VERDICT
Bayern offers Manuel Neuer a one-year contract extension until 2027. The club is confident a deal will be struck, with negotiations set for December. The veteran goalkeeper is taking his time, prioritising his health and fitness before deciding his future

According to reports, Manuel Neuer, a club legend and seasoned goalkeeper, has accepted a one-year contract extension from Bayern Munich, meaning he will stay at the Allianz Arena until June 2027. The club is scheduled to hold negotiations in December, but the 2014 World Cup-winning custodian has reaffirmed that he wants to take his time before making a decision about his future.
Neuer is performing well in his last year at Bayern.
Despite having long since entered the twilight of his career, the 39-year-old has managed to hold onto his spot in the starting lineup under head coach Vincent Kompany, demonstrating week after week that he is still among the finest in the industry. There is no question that Neuer is still the front-runner for the No. 1 place, even after his horrifying error in last weekend's 2-2 draw against Union Berlin ended Bayern's 16-game winning streak. Out of the 17 games the Bavarian giants have played this season, Neuer has appeared in 14 of them.
However, Neuer will not remain at Bayern indefinitely. The iconic goalie is in the last seven months of his contract and will turn 40 in March of next year. A BILD article claims that Bayern has made a decision on the legendary player's future. According to the source, the club is interested in giving Neuer a one-year contract extension, till June 2027.
With contract negotiations expected to pick up steam somewhere in December, Bayern is committed to making sure Neuer stays with the team past next summer. In addition to his results, the club is quite pleased with the substantial adjustments he has made to his daily schedule in order to avoid more injury setbacks. According to BILD, Neuer works out with weights before each team training session and sees the physiotherapist every day. Additionally, twice a week, he adds a 30-minute weightlifting session after his primary workouts.
It can appear that Neuer wants to extend his career since he goes above and above in terms of his conditioning. The goalie, who was born in Gelsenkirchen, is choosing to live in the present and not waste time thinking about the future.
"I am completely at ease about it. Before the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, Neuer told reporters, "What we do with our team is the most important thing." "I already suggested the mixed zone, and my health would be a priority. At least for the winter, I am taking my time and being very laid back. Numerous factors are involved. It has to do with motivation, fitness, and health. But also the club's future for the upcoming season. It is still much too early for me to respond to that question myself. Of course, we can always chat after that. Everything has a part to play.
Bayern is optimistic that they will work out a deal with Neuer to prolong his contract. They are also at ease regarding the future of Jonas Urbig, their backup goalie, who has only made 15 appearances since joining Bayern from Cologne in January of this year. Neuer is inspired by his heir apparent, according to BILD. He recognises that his teammate is a very talented goalie and does not take his position as the clear first choice for granted.
For his part, Urbig is enjoying the opportunity to pick up tips from seasoned goalkeepers like Sven Ulreich and Neuer. He claims that he is not considering whether Neuer extends. "I do not really worry about these things," he recently told Rundschau. "Because I have no business commenting on the choices Manu or the club make. I focus on my daily tasks with Manu, the squad, and the goalkeeping staff. We get along nicely and collaborate effectively. I want to make it clear that everyone on the goalkeeping team gets along well with one another. I can gain a lot from the vast amount of experience that Manuel and Sven have.
Bayern believes Urbig, who is still only 22, can advance behind Neuer in the 2026–2027 campaign, should the latter decide not to retire.
The outcome of Neuer's international retirement will likely determine whether or not he retires. According to reports in recent months, Germany may pressure Neuer to think about rejoining the national ssquadgiven Marc-Andre ter Stegen's uncertainty at Barcelona.
Experts at the German Football Federation (DFB) are reportedly attempting to convince head coach Julian Nagelsmann to permit Neuer's return. But the former head coach of Bayern and RB Leipzig will have the last say.
Additionally, BILD stated that, with the World Cup scheduled for next summer, DFB sporting director Rudi Voller allegedly spoke with Neuer to inquire about his willingness to rejoin the national squad.
